About the event
The Greendale Historical Society presents our second annual Diamond-T Luncheon to raise funds for our 1938 Diamond-T Fire Engine – Greendale’s first new fire engine. The 1938 Diamond-T is fully owned, operated, maintained and being restored by the Greendale Historical Society.
The Diamond-T was first put into service on September 1, 1938 and was used by the Greendale Fire Department until 1970 when it was replaced by a 1970 Mack Fire Engine. The Diamond-T then moved around the country and eventually ended up back in Greendale in November, 2015 when it was donated to the Greendale Historical Society by a collector in New Jersey.
Today the engine is being restored by the Historical Society to its original 1938 appearance and we can use your help!
Our Luncheon on Saturday, June 29, 2019 will feature a delicious Mostaccoli lunch with salad and garlic bread catered by That’s Amore in Hales Corners. Following the lunch there will be a brief update on the restoration progress of the Diamond-T and then a feature presentation from former Fire Chief Jim Strange with stories from his service with the department.
Don’t miss this opportunity to help with this important part of Greendale’s history and enjoy a fantastic lunch and historic presentation. Buy your tickets today right from this website or at the Historic Greendale Welcome Center.
